Last couple of times I went to the Cheesecake factory (both Cambridge and Burlington locations) with my wife, we've been VERY DISAPPOINTED. In Burlington, the service was extremely slow. After we finally received our food, the waiter disappeared and was never to be seen again, until we asked for our bill.
Portions were small. The chicken pasta in madiera wine sauce - had only a few pieces of chicken and mostly undercooked pasta. Mixed drinks we're way over priced and watered down.
In the Cambridge location once we sat down, it took about 15 minutes for the waiter to finally come over and take our order. The appetizers we're the best part, even though the wait was 25 minutes; our entree's took about another hour. The beef goulash entree was unmemorable. After the long wait of finally getting it, the dish was very salty and the meat was tough. Waiter was very unattentive and would rather mingle with his fellow coworkers, while my wife and I thirsted while waiting on drink refills. After we finished I had to chase him down to finally take the bill so we could leave. That experience took over 2 hours before we finally left.
This place rocks!: Good food, good atmosphere!
MAKE SURE YOU RUSH ME: THIS PLACE MAKE SURE THEY RUSH YOU THROUGH YOUR MEAL SO THEY CAN GET MORE PATRONS ASAP. IT'S RUDE AND DISGUSTING.
Great Food, Poor Service: I have been to this restaurant twice and the service has been consistently poor. The first visit was in the middle of the afternoon and the restaurant was nearly empty. There was NO excuse not to refill our water glasses or make us wait 15 minutes for the dessert menu. Our waitress was in the corner talking to other servers the whole time. I wrote a nice letter to the management when I got home and never heard back. We visited the restaurant again with family several months ago and the service was a bit better, but not fantastic. I would suggest going in the afternoon or after the main dinner rush because it is a bit crowded at 6pm and loud. I tried the Carmel Turtle Cheesecake and it was SUPER. I have also had at least 6 others and found this one to be way better. The Godiva is good, but super rich. I find the portions are so large, it is worth splitting a meal with your partner and each getting a dessert. You will not go away hungry! Worth the $, but don't go expecting to be treated like the queen.
Intersting Food: Great Atmosphere. Very Large, you don't feel crowded.
Caramel De Luc... cheesecake is delicious!
Thai rolls/wraps are DO IT YOURSELF. Don't order if you don't want a mess, but they are delicious. Great presentation.
Servers are right on like clockwork.
Love It!!!: I love this restaurant. The atmosphere is great and relaxed, the decor is fab-u-lous. Service is on point and friendly. And the food is to die for.
Just go for the cheesecake!: Large portion sizes are the attraction here. However, some of their dishes are eally good and some are really bad--so hopefully you get the good one. I do like the ambience although it can get really crowded. A definite visit if you have never tried it before--but there are tons more restaurants with better food at much cheaper prices. Good for groups. Pricey. Fenway Bar and Grill is better alternative in food and price with the same large portions.
Its rocks from the West to the East: the quality is consistent - which is awesome - never EVER a bad meal and always 4 Star services with 2 star prices!
An addictive experience!: The food not worth the wait, but go crazy with the dessert because it is without a doubt worth every minute and in line and every penny on the check.
Is it worth the wait?: Ultimately you have to decide if the cheesecake factory is worth the wait. But for us it was. I went there of course to get cheesecake based on the name. I found so much more like heavenly chocalate cake which is my favorite and they had 3 different kind. How could I even choose. But the factory is not just a great place for a tremendously delicious dessert and too many types of cheescake....their entres are great too. I had salman with some sort of Asian sauce over it. It was tremendous!. It was so good and the vegetables so filling I actually had to to take my chocalate cake and keylime cheesecake home. But that just allowed this great dining expereince to linger a few more days during my Boston visit. It took a while to get seated and I am not sure if I would have waited if I was alone. But now I am!. Hope you enjoy too. Next time the amaretta or the oreo cookie cheesecake.
