Food is good day and night. The employees are incredibly rude and get agitated at the smallest of things. I realize they see a lot of people come in after being at bars, but geez...relax a little bit. The chip on their shoulders is unbelievable.
The sandwiches there are sooo good and they're friendly and fast. my husband and i ate our lunch to go at the park across the street. i highly recommend this place.
RISE AND SHINER IS THE BEST ITEM ON THE MENU, HOWEVER THEY TEND TO BURN IT HALF OF THE TIME. EMPLOYEES PROVIDE HORRIBLE SERVICE AND ARE ALWAYS RUDE. THE EMPLOYEES COMPLAIN WAY TO MUCH ABOUT SMALL NUANCES. NO ONE WHO WORKS THERE CARES ABOUT PROVIDING CUSTOMERS WITH QUALITY FOOD. I WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED IF THEY SPIT IN MOST OF THE FOOD THEY SERVE. THE ONLY REASON ANYONE EATS THERE IS BECAUSE THEY GET DRUNK SO THE FOOD ACTUALLY TASTES GOOD. NEVER TIP THESE PUNKS. EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE.
The food is good, the selection is great and you can't beat the fact that you can get a great, reasonably priced breakfast any time, day or night. Unfortunatley, both myself and my staff have expercienced the KKD staff to be monumentally rude on more than one occassion.
Several times, after placing call-in orders or phoning in with questions about menu items, I have been hung-up on. On one occassion, one of my staff was called "stupid" and then hung-up on. Complaints about this behavior seem to fall on deaf ears.
Our office will not be ordering from here again.
Great sandwiches. Grew up here and it is a local favorite. Can't find sandwiches like this in Kalamazoo where I go to college.

Im sure you deserved it! :D
I absolutely agree. The food is great, but the service terrible. I actually had an ex-KKD employee working for me a few months ago, and the one time I caught him acting like he still worked at KKD on the phone, he was suspended. His excuse for his rude behavior towards a customer was that he used to work at KKD, and due to the nature of the business, employees there felt it appropriate to treat the people who support their paychecks in such a manner. Gotta love the punk rock culture...
