I was very impressed with the food ... great italian comfort food ... I am just sorry it took me almost two years to find out about it ... honestly, it's really good food and so much more enjoyable than the shallow 'upscale' resturants that the Noho crowd promote.
Pizza was good, not great whenever I went there. My wife ordered the lasagna it was like soup we got no satisfaction from the management, and haven't been back in four years, and will never go back.
A most wonderful pizza!: Plan on visiting this local pizza place when you have quite a lot of time to wait and are feeling patient as the service is slow and at most average. But after you wade through the muck you will find a pizza well worth the wait! Nice thin crust with just the right amount of sauce and good choice of traditional toppings, and a few not so traditional. If you are in the mood for something a little extra, give the Joes house salad a go- with real bacon and crumbled boiled egg in a just right -not too sweet, not to savory- house dressing.

You must not have been at the Joe's Cafe in Northampton. I just moved to the area and cannot get enough of Joe's. I consider myself a pizza connoisseur of sorts, and Joe's pizza is--by FAR--the best pizza in Northampton and I would even go so far so to say the entire state of MA (I've lived all over MA). I was actually just there last night, had the lasagna, and it was amazing. If you haven't been to Joe's, you must go.
I think you must be off your rocker for that negative review! Joe's is hands down the best pizza in Pioneer Valley! And there other food is excellent too! There tomato macaroni soup is out of this world and cheesy garlic bread is good too! Great salad's too with local produce used always when in season! Joe's is an institution and must not be missed by anyone if you are visiting the area! Try it you'll love it!
