went to AAMCO with a noise in my transmission. I was told that it might not be the transmission, but something else creating the noise. After a full diagnosis they returnd to tell me that it was just a relocation of some item, and it took care of the noise. Many thanks
Terrible!!! I contacted this place over the phone. I told the man who answered that I needed a new transmission. He asked me, "how do you know?", to which I responded, my mechanic had told me so. His response to me was the following: "Well, you don't go to a dentist when you have heart problems, do you?" He continued to explained to me that for $40 dollars (around there), he would check and tell me if I needed my transmission replaced. I was on my break at work at the time, and he kept on going on and on about why I should take my car over to their shop. He said maybe they could replace the few parts that my transmission needed to be fully functional again. I wanted my transmission replaced, not rebuilt! He was completely rude. He insulted me several times when I told him I was going to shop around for prices. I WOULD NEVER HAVE THEM DO ANY WORK IN MY CAR! I have never felt so insulted by a mechanic in my entire life.
Had a great experience at the Springfield AAMCO after losing the transmission in my minivan. Joe took the time to explain the whole process and even gave me a free rental car for a couple of days while they worked on my van. Had it back after 3 days and it now works like it should. I later found out from a workmate that the price I paid was really good. Highly recommended!!
