Outstanding, authentic, and very unsuspecting of a Korean restaurant in a very small town. Great atmosphere and bring your own soju.
Definitely a ten..
The restaurant is small and quaint. They have table seating as well as a korean atmosphere with pillows. I've tried just about everything they have and I am sincere when I say it's terrific!
If you have the chance to try it I highly recommend Woo Jung.
It's a word of mouth place that I'm possitive you'll be sharing....OK maybe keeping to yourself to impressive friends. Try the Bulgogi!!!
Woo Jung is one of the few Korean restaurants operating in West Central Massachusetts (Ayer), and so has a near monopoly in the region; fortunately, the food at this restaurant is authentic Korean (not Americanized) cuisine and extremely good, with an excellent variety of dishes, and very satisfying portions. The various pre-meal hors douvres are refillable at no cost - but careful! You can easily eat too much oi-gimchi (cucumber Kimchi) etc. and other treats and fill yourself up before the entre arrives!
Seating is a bit limited (room for perhaps 60, or less), but if there is any wait time, it is usually brief; about my only complaint (and very minor it is!), is that Woo Jung does not provide the larger (and slightly rounder), longer-handled Korean spoons that are always available in Korea (instead they use standard American spoons - though the Korean-style spoons are readily available at any Korean market including Oo-ri Market just up the street).
The service at Woo-jung is outstanding with a very personable and attentive wait staff, and timely delivery of your order. Prices are competitive, with most main menu items under $15 (some just barely) - though appetizers can be a bit pricey (an order of Pajun, for example - Korean "pancake" - will run you $8) - but the serving size is more than adequate for one and just enough, for two.
Take out orders are not a problem.
I highly recommend Woo Jung.
