Bogey Lanes

It can be a great family fun day. The alleys have lights that rival a disco so at night the kids are enthralled. Also in the same building is a mini arcade and I believe they have food as well. Not sure if they still offer food since the last few times I was there was during the day when it was really slow. They have speakers playing music throughout the building, which is a big plus for the children. It is a little expensive but not so much that it is a deal breaker. They also now have a Mini Golf just outside the door. So you have two choices for family fun.

The downsides can dull the fun though. For one the lanes haven't been up kept in awhile. I guess they figure since it is for Kids no one will care. I noticed quite a bit of warped alleys. Not so the ball bounces but enough so that a straight shot will slowly roll to one side. I am not a great bowler but it is still frustrating when I roll it straight down the middle only to have it drift to one side. I have a friend who is a good bowler though and it frustrate her to have the balls roll where they want and not where she aims it. It has even gotten bad enough so children that have played there more then once are noticing the ball's tendency to go to one side. The other thing and for me more important is that the bowling balls are getting really chewed up. I guess once again they think since it is a lot of children playing it doesn't matter. It does to me. I love to take my child there but have passed up opportunities because my fingers were still sore from the last time I played. It really is bad and it varies. I don't think I could find any balls that didn't at least have noticeable scratches while holding the ball and in some cases there are fairly large chunks taken out of the balls.
That said I still take my child there every once in a while because of all they have to offer. Unfortunatly I also keep looking for another alley that can incorporate the good things of Bogey lanes with better upkeep of the lanes and balls.

Lastly in regards to the Mini Golf. It is a nice little couse but since it is a newer course it seems like they could have incorporated ideas from other courses in the area. I have also played at Crystal Caves in Auburn and it is a better course. Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with this course but it is mostly just put the ball into a hole. Not many tunnels, or fancy moves that can make Mini Golf so much fun.

SO overall I would give the place a score as follows;

A- Children fun
C Cost
A Choice of activities
D Upkeep of equipment
B+ Cleanliness

Hope this helps and remember it is a place where you will have fun. So bottom line is although I mentioned the bad things so you will be prepared I will go there again and my child does enjoy it a lot.

We had a blast!: It was clean, great for kids, the birthday was awesome! My family had so much fun doing the cosmic bowling.
