I live about six miles away in Marlborough, and I happened upon this restaurant after I had gone into the nearby Blue Coyote Grill (which turned out to be an overpriced, noisy, overcrowded sports bar playing mostly country music and loud TVs). After leaving the Blue Coyote to look for an alternative, I smelled this wonderful Indian food, whipped out my handheld GPS device and found the Monsoon. I've been back there nearly every weekend. Great food, reasonable prices, great service, very friendly staff--they even remember my favorite drink, etc., whenever I return. I really like Indian food and I've eaten it in many places in and around Boston and MetroWest (Framingham, etc.). But none is as good as this place. Even so, it's never overcrowded, and I'm always able to get a table immediately on weekend evenings. Fantastic place! Hint: try the Korma dishes, the vegetable soup and the pistachio-almond ice cream. They also make really good mixed drinks (I usually have a Marguarita on the rocks w/out salt.)
The best Indian food I've ever had!: I have been to several Indian food restaurants in and outside of Boston and this is by far the best. It's refreshing to have a restaurant like this outside of Boston where you don't have to travel into the city. If you have never tried Indian food, or if you have, you need to head to Monsoon for a true experience. The only thing that exceeds the food is the service. Every waiter we've ever had has been so friendly and helpful. You'll be sure to enjoy your next visit!
Hidden Gem!: This little Indian restaurant tucked in next to the infamous Foley's Faucetorium is a great restaurant. Cozy setting, great food and wonderful waitstaff!
