I had been looking for a winter car for months when my father came across Dave Ducharme's Auto Sales. He had a great initial encounter with Dave's son Ron, so encouraged me to go down and see what he had on the lot. Every other used car place scares me. The Ducharmes are fair and very easy to work with. They have fixed all the items on the car that I reported after I took delivery at no cost to me. If you are local they will give you a ride to work and back. The repairs are top quality by a mechanic they have on their staff. In the future I will only buy my used cars from them.
I bought a 2002 Chevy Prizm (toyota corolla). Before delivery they installed new brakes/rotors, drums/shoes, tires, wipers and cleaned the car. After delivery my check engine light came on.
They replaced the exhaust system, new catalytic converter and O2 sensors in an attempt to resolve the code. After they did all that we learned it was caused by oil burning in piston #2 due to worn rings.
They replaced all 4 piston rings and installed new gaskets.
Then they replaced the oil control valve for the VVTi solenoid.
All at their cost.
So as you can see, if you communicate with the Ducharmes they will be more than happy to resolve any issues that occur after delivery.
We have built a relationship out of a used car. Where else can you get that?
Be careful if buying from this dealership. I bought a car from them exactly one year ago and now just donated the car today because of all the problems. The problems include A/C going out within 2 months, rear wiper breaking in 2 months, alternator failing/belt tensioner within 4 months, bad front/rear brakes, bad shocks, and the latest problem being the emergency brake locked up and the car is not drivable. The car has been a lemon and money pit since day one. Buy from a dealer that sales dependable and reliable cars.
I took a friend here to buy a car. They treat woman
fair and *listen* to what they want. There are no
games at this dealership.
You can trust they will treat you professional.

The dealer can't be responsible for the A/C going within two months especially if it worked before it left the dealership. As much as we all think we can predict the future it is very difficult especially for something such as an A/C system that is working. If the rear wiper broke you probably had two feet of snow piles up on it and tried to use it. The same goes with the alternator failing, those things could go at anytime. The car could not have been a lemon if it passed inspection and did not give problems during warranty. I know David personally and if you had an issue with the vehicle you should have told him and he is very reasonable with prices especially if you purchased the vehicle from him.
Last I looked it did not snow last October in Boston. Nice try. The Oldsmobile was a complete lemon. Everything that could go wrong with that car did. It had problems during the warranty period and I did take it to David. The vehicle had a squeal almost days after buying the truck. When I took it to David he said I made the squeal up and the car had no squeal. He just put a bandade on the squeal when I left the car overnight until the warranty period ran out. In hindsight I should have had an independent inspection on the car before buying. Because David would not solve the problem I finally took the car to the Chevy dealer about 2 weeks after buying. The dealer told me that I have been had and should have never bought the car. He said the car was in horrible shape mechanically and was worth more as scrap. Unfortunitely, I needed the car immediately and had to rush the transaction. That was my fault. I am now paying the price now with not having a vehicle or the ability to afford another vehicle after taking such a huge loss.
