You should know better than to bring your child to a golf course like that. Never mind let him drive the cart. Even though you may have the greatest child in the world, there are rules, and if you are allowed , that means they have to allow everyone,, and you know where that goes. The Ranger may not have handled it as gently as he should have, and no doubt was chewed out for it,, but it's not in his resume to have to deal with your special needs. He is there to keep order and movement on the course so that everyone can enjoy there day...not just you.
I hope you turn it around for your child as a life lesson,,, and not hatred to the poor ranger who was just doing his job, which by the way, probably doesn't pay much.
I've been playing here for over 6 years and i have to say this course is top notch: one of the best public courses in new england. The staff is courteous and knowledgable, the course is always in outstanding condition (many times better than the private club i'm a member of) and the greens are wonderfully maintained (and fast). My only complaint is holes 1 and 5. It just seems a little ridiculous to hit 7 iron 3 iron on a par 4. It is certainly a workout to walk, but well worth it. It seems that you really miss out on a part of the experience of this course riding.
As for the prior claim of the yelling ranger, your perception of whats allowable seems to be skewed. This ranger is well within his powers and is clearly in the right here. It is dangerous for the course, for the wellbeing of others on the course, and the cart itself (which isn't cheap). I applaud this rangers decision and I'm suprised he didn't just kick you and your son off the course without a refund.
I don't usually write reviews but the comments about the staff seemed pretty off base. I have played here maybe 40 times over the past 7 years. I don't know anyone on the staff and they don't know me, but they have never been anything but helpful and pleasant. I have a hard time picturing any rangers there yelling at your son for no reason. The course is always in great shape and very picturesque. Fun golf overall.
