I was driving down Cabot Street a couple Saturdays ago and saw a sign that said "Happy Hour" 12-2pm. I had never been in Wards before but i was intrigued so I decided to check it out. Apparently Wards does this every Saturday. All their cut flowers, cash and carry are 30% off between those hours. What a great idea! In this economy we could all use a pick me up and flowers always seem to lift my spirits. They had such a huge selection and everything was so fresh. I got some lilies and it has been a week and a half and they are still beautiful. I would highly recomend Wards.
well thank God my husband found Ward's as I have been getting beautiful, fragrant bouquets ever since. What I appreciate about Ward's is that their flowers are very fresh and last a long time. Also they do NOT use cheap fillers like leatherleaf, carnations, peruvian roses, mums or that horror - statis. They tend to use colorful stock and a really dark shiny foliage which makes a dramatic backdrop for the flowers. Also the flowers are soft hues with a kind of impressionist look - not loud or high contrast, more upscale and unique. Lots of lilac and lavender tones. Really high quality, I get to admire them in full bloom for at least one week before they start to fade. My husband likes dealing with them and remarks on how friendly and helpful they are. Someone over at Ward's is both a really good designer and a good business person. A combination that is very hard to find. With thanks to Ward's from Mrs. Sharp - Salem, MA.
