Went to Strega tonight for a double birthday celebration dinner. The place was pretty cheesey. Chaneliers with fake spider webs on them, the tables tucked away in a corner with round booths (pity the person who gets stuck in the middle and has to pee). The service was excellent, very attentive waiter(s) Food was ok. The bruchetta was hard as nails, hubby's rigatoni was cold. My ravioli's were good but not excellent. The salmon was great, chicken marsala was great. Antipasto for $14.00 was TOO SMALL. Nice clean ladies room but the place was dark and decorated like a cheap smoking parlor. Parking in the neighborhood is questionable too. All in all the place gets a C- from me. Dessert was excellent but who can live on dessert alone? No tea for me, nothing, just coffee. BYOT. I won't go back unless some changes are made such as brighten up the place and get rid of the spider webs! Nice bar with big TV's but too confusing with all the weird sofas and chairs. The Oak Room it is not. Sorry Strega!
Strega is amazing !!
Finally a kicky place to hang on the North Shore. Great atmosphere : makes you feel like your in NYC : Great selection of food : so yummy (something for everyone). Amazing Cocktails !!! Food : Drink : Music : Lighting : a +++ .
Looking for something Hip and Hot : Strega is it !!
the atmosphere at Strega is great with warm colors and a dim light scheme. however there were fake spiderwebs all over the celling which was kind of tacky in the first week of january even for salem. the food was average and was served quickly with good service. the price was reasonable for anything in salem and overall i would say me and my girlfriend were satisfied. the major down fall for Strega is seating. the whole dining area is basically shoved into a corner and there are constantly people walking behind you and trying to get by. it makes one feel very in the way. overall no amount of atmosphere and taste can compensate for the fact you feel like you are eating in a closet. great for a night of drinks but if you are going for food make sure it is a week night or you will literally be rubbing elbows with Salem's residents.
