Having seen several shows at the MMAS Blackbox Theater over the past few years, I can say without doubt that this intimate venue consistently stages productions whose quality rivals those in New York and London. Who knew that such a gem (and such local talent!) lay hidden in an alley in downtown Mansfield, MA? I look forward to the new arts center that MMAS intends to build so that they may expand their offerings in arts education and ability to present more fine art exhibits.

The Diary of Anne Frank-MMAS: I have seen exceptional theater at this little blackbox in downtown Mansfield. In the of Fall 2005 I had seen a production of the comedy The Boys Next Door and discovered this gem of a place to have the best theater in the area. Mansfield has live theater with professional quality actors,sets and direction. Mansfield Music and Arts Society did not disappoint me this week when I witnessed a moving adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank. This group has raised the bar in community theater production.
