I have been to Clyde's twice so far. I don't think I'll be going back though, mainly because there are so many better choices in the area. This place is very average. The prices are kind of high. It's a tiny hole in the wall dive right on Rt 1 across from Walmart. The first time I was there I ordered the fried chicken dish. The chicken was moist, but the breading was the same type you get on fish and chips. Not your typical seasoned crispy fried chicken breading. It was disappointing. The second time I went I ordered the burger. I ordered it medium but they cooked it well done. The meat had gristle in it! The burger came with fries and a pickle for $10. The 99 Restaurant has better burgers and theirs are 10% cheaper. My husband ordered the half rack of ribs for $15. Come on, $15 for a half rack of average ribs (inc potato and coleslaw) No salad, no corn bread. It was a rip off. The Outback Steakhouse charges $13 for a half rack and it includes salad and bread. We ordered the onion scoops appetizer, it was $10! It was not nearly as big or as good as the Bloomin' Onion at Outback Steakhouse, who charges $7. I appreciate family owned businesses and don't want to encourage dining at chain restaurants, but let's call a spade a spade. In this economy, who can afford to be ripped off? On an upnote, the waitstaff is very attentive (almost to the point of being annoying) the beer is good and it is very kid friendly, so a good place to get a bite with your kids. So, if you don't mind average food, good service at high prices, this is the place for you.
Hidden Treasure: While it says BBQ and pizza right on the building, this place is way more than it appears. They have an incredible variety of appetizers, meals AND drinks - all of which is delicious. The environment is great, with crayons and cards/games at every table, and the service is top notch. Try it out!
