I bought a brand new Fender Jag there on layaway. It was an impulse buy. I knew what I wanted so I didn't need help, but the kid helping me with the paperwork was great until I wouldn't but a warranty. He kind of looked like he'd like to punch me, actual anger. After that the people I dealt with while paying in installments were cool, even apologetic when Anger Boy tried to wait on me and I asked for someone else, but the guitar was suppose to be new with the manufacture's warranty (said it on the sales tag), but came with no Fender paper work or gig bag (was suppose to include Deluxe gig bag)that every guitar store includes with this model when its new. I did ask for the paperwork but they said there wasn't any except for the receipt. I've been sick so I didn't feel like arguing over this stuff. I think buying small stuff there is great but Boston needs more guitar stores. They do have some beautiful guitars. Maybe Daddy's is good if you do your homework, speak up, and get the right salesperson. That's a lot of sweat but worth it if you're spending a lot of money.
Don't go any place else!: This is EXACTLY what you'd expect a music store to look like...
Which makes sense because it is right across the street from Berkley College of Music. The staff is brilliant and helpful, no matter what your experience level.
Untrustworthy. Do not buy from here.: I bought from here 2 years ago. At first I thought this place was great. I ordered an out-of-stock Yamaha keyboard, and they offered to let me take an extra display model home for 2 weeks until my order came. They even sold me a warranty plan. Everyone was smiling, nice and helpful.
Two weeks later when I came by to exchange the display model for my order, I talked to the same store manager (don't remember his name but he was chubby with long curly hair). I informed him that I wanted to cancel my warranty plan, and his attitude did a complete 180. At first, he straight out lied, telling me that the plan was non-refundable. When I pointed out the printed 30-day cancellation policy, he started making sarcastic offensive remarks, suggesting that he shouldn't have done me the favor of loaning the display model. He then stormed off and left me alone at the counter. All this was totally unprovoked. I finished the transaction with a different worker.
In the end my order
