| About: | Icarus is an elegant South End restaurant with superior food. The chef is co-owner Chris Douglass who has created a top-notch American regional menu that changes seasonally. Some of the recent choices include pepper crusted venison chop and grilled tuna entrees. Pastry chef David Broderick adds a touch of decadence to the place and the wine list here is wonderful. The atmosphere is rich with a two-tier dining room and mission furniture. Live jazz is featured on Friday nights. |

Intimacy + wonderful food: Icarus offers a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere without the din and distractions of other, trendier spots. You can actually have a private conversation without yelling. The cuisine reinforces that atmosphere by being both subtle and satisfying.
Only place I know in Boston with Corkage fee!: My favorite thing about this restaurant is that they have a corkage fee. One of the very few places that allows you to bring your own wine. The food is very good. There is nothing on the menu that is very surprising but tasty nevertheless. The ambience is nice even though it is underground with no windows.
