Brasserie Jo redeems itself: My husband and I had a terrible dining experience at Brasserie Jo the first time around. Even though it was advertised everywhere that they were participating in Restaurant Week on Sunday, we did not receive the menu for that. In addition, the waiter's description of a seafood crepe was poor at best. The item was not at all as described, and contained many unexpected ingredients. I found shells in the seafood. My husband's burger was ordered medium and was overcooked. The fries were soggy. After our food was dropped off, no one ever checked with us to ask how it was. We finally flagged down our waiter and asked for bread to sop up the soggy liquid in my crepe. He never returned with the bread. A woman nearby asked for the Restaurant Week menu and had to fight for it -- a waiter came back to her table to argue 3 times before she received the menu. All this for the "bargain" price of $50. I left my address with the hostess, who apologized, but didn't receive a call back. I called them and received an offer to come back on the house. We took them up on it. They didn't have our reservation on record, but I spoke to the maitre d and he understood. This meal was so much better. I had the mussels and fries and my husband had a salmon BLT. Both were delicious. The service this time around was excellent. We left a $10 tip for our meal that was probably around $35. I'm glad that I gave Brasserie Jo a second chance and would definitely consider going back.

I dined on 4/28/2008 evening with my family. The server was so busy that I had to run into him to get his service. The restaurant manager told me that the tip is included on the bill when he handed over the bill to us. (we had 6 people on the table). The bill that we singed was $231.88. Next day, I check the credit card and it was charged $278.26

I contacted the restaurant and spoke about that with a manager on 4/29/2008. But he gave another person's name and asked me to call him again tomorrow. I felt cheated and upset with this.

You need to be very careful with your charges with this restaurant. And be sure to keep all the receipt.

I have contacted the account manager for this descrepancy. He explained to me that they secure extra amount for tips in temporary authorization amount. But final charge will be the amount that I singed.

A must try: I was introduced to Brasserie JO by a group of friends who took me to brunch here. I ordered the Seafood Crepe with lobster sauce and it was unbelievably good!!! I was very impressed by the decor and the location (right next to the Prudential stop on the green line) and there is ample parking (at The Colonnade and another (cheaper) parking garage is nearby). I decided to come back a few weeks later for dinner and was once again impressed. We ordered the ratatouille goat cheese tarte for an appetizer which was very good. I got the shrimp bag as an entree and my fiancee ordered the lobster bouillabaisse and we couldn't figure out who had ordered the best dish!
