Avoid at ALL COSTS: Leased a BMW from these guys. Where do I begin with the problems they caused? Unless you decide to buy the car outright or lease another vehicle from them at the end of the lease, they treat you like you like dirt. They ended up charging me for every minor scratch on the car, which is OK, but I actually overheard the Lease Return Agent telling their "preferred" body shop technician to "charge him what you want, he's not leasing another vehicle from us". It took me over 10 phone calls and in-person visits to finally have them inspect the car before the lease return. They charged me "lease return fees" that were never mentioned to me at the time I leased the car and were in such small print on the agreement that you would need a magnifying glass to see them. In the middle of returning the car to get my deposit back, the sales agent further insulted me by getting up twice to attend to "sales opportunities" that had walked into the showroom, apologizing to me once by saying that the visitor was a "doctor who had bought two cars" from him before. I lodged several official complaints, gave Herb Chambers a low score on their self evaluations, but never got a single call back or any explanation for their behavior. Just goes to show that when you are a top BMW dealer the company doesn't care how their customers are treated. A colleague of mine had a very similar experience at Herb Chambers BMW. If you have no self respect and don't mind being treated like dirt while making a $50,000+ purchase, this is your place. Otherwise, just go to another BMW dealership.
STOP: Waited four days for a new tire, airbags didn't work for 3 years that we leased or BMW X3. They forgot to change our oil during our tuneup and didn't know how to change the wiper blades. Made us wait in that god awful showroom each time for hours and told us they didn't have replacement parts. Go to Peabody if you want great service!!!
Chambers BMW sales VS service: Chambers was the first dealer I went to talk to for both my BMWs: it's the closest to my home. In both cases the discount from MSRP offered was ridiculous compared with what I was got a few miles away.
The service, on the other hand, has been consistently very good.
