    solid barber shop: this is what a barber shop should be. i'm a guy who prefers to just let a barber do whatever they think will look good, and i walked out of this place happy. it's small, but they move pretty quickly, so don't worry if there's one of two people waiting. i tried "la flamme" or whatever too. it wasn't as good. and that little "a frame" place by Grafton St? not good at all. this place is comparable to fast phil's on mass ave, minus the fast phil "entertainment factor." but they guys at custom are all friendly.

    Simple, as it should be.: Nick presides over a simple, wonderful slice of life with the elegance of a professional who appreciates times gone by, and present realities. Custom Barber shop is a no-frills, excellent barber shop. Same as it ever was. This is THE quinticential barber shop. Experience it.

    Fine, nothing special: Just got a hair trim at this place. The guy giving me the cut didn't seem as confident as most, but the end result looks good. I'm not in love with the place, but I will probably go back. The cut will set you back $13, although I tipped a little.
