I had my nose pierced at Chameleon by Owen. The only issue was a bit of a wait to begin with at the shop (maybe Sundays are busy), but it was worth it. It's now been 3 months and my piercing has remained healthy, sans any infections. (knock on wood).
Also - the piercer was very cute!
I"ve had nothing but good experiences at Chameleon, having been going there for four years now. My first stop in was when a nose-piercing-gone-bad had me nervous it was infected. Here's the thing--I hadn't even gotten it pierced AT Chameleon, and I called to see if they'd take a look at it and the girl at the desk said absolutely, just come on in. They saw me, cleaned the piercing, gave some advice, suggestions & an informational sheet, and no charge for the visit (do remember to tip though!) I was instantly a fan of the place & the wicked nice and accomodating people.
Second time in was for an anti-helix piercing, Owen was again amazing, talking me through the process--the anti-helix is pretty painful, obviously no fault of his own, it's just a really sensitive area. It came out beautifully though, never had a problem with it, and when I went back for him to change the jewelery when it was healed, again the service was wonderful.
Last visit was actually to see if they'd changed the jewelery on my cartiledge piercing, again another piercing I had gotten many years ago at another parlor. Owen did it for no cost with a smile.
Bottom line: Chameleon offers some of the cleanest, friendliest, best piercing services I've ever seen. The staff is awesome--I'm clearly a huge fan of Owen!!--and they do use a crazy amount of gloves for each piercing, plus lots of other sterilizing materials that will leave you fully confident of their professionalism & care. I honestly wouldn't go anywhere else in Boston to get pierced.
Just arrived in Boston (yes first time away from home) and wanted to get a piercing because my friend was going to get a tattoo. I've never been into a shop before and the whole experience had me nervous, but that changed instantly! The minute I walked in everyone was so nice and friendly... I was so nervous, but my mind was soon set at ease, the girl working at the desk was so reassuring and comforting and talked to me while I was waiting my turn. Long story short, my piercing rules and my friend can't say enough about her tattoo. Already planning on getting another one, and I am definitely going back to Chameleon. Who knows I might even end up leaving with a tattoo!
