| About: | This funky little restaurant is slightly difficult to find, but well worth seeking out. The menu features Caribbean specialties like curried goat, fried conch fritters and Guisado de Mariscos a spicy seafood stew. For a real taste of the Caribbean, order one or several, depending on your mood of the many tropical drink creations. While you are there, make it a point to check out the artwork on the walls. The restaurant has a full service bar. |

My friend and I used to frequent the Green Street Grill fairly often, but got out of the habit. About two weeks ago, we decided to go again. I understand it has changed hands sometime in the recent past. Well, I tried to let this go...but two weeks later I'm still thinking about it...so I have to write. First I ordered a Bloody Mary...after a while the waiter came back to the table and informed that they didn't have any tomato juice...sorry! (There was a little market across the street. Couldn't someone have run out for a bottle of tomato juice?) Then we ordered their cheese burger from the menu. I wanted my medium well...I don't care for pink hamburger. I was informed that they only cook them medium...that was the only choice. Please. This is a well known restaurant. Can't I get a little service here?
I'm not sure what the previous reviewer was talking about. I've been here numerous times and never had a bad meal or bad service. I love this place!
Never going there again: A friend recommended Green Street Grill as a restaurant to go to for our birthday. It was easy to find, so we went there.
The service was very, very poor. Our waitress had to be asked at least twice before she would get something like water or extra napkins etc. The food wasn't great either. The steak was too salty, but the plantains were delicious. But the worst thing for me was the roaches. It made the experience extremely uncomfortable because I had ate half of my food already. When the manager was told, he didn't even look surprised, offended, embarassed, or apologetic--it was as if he was used to such comments. This place was definitely not worth the money. There are so many better and clean places to eat. I would definitely recommend that health department pay them a visit because the roaches were huge (well-fed), so that grossed me out. I didn't touch my food after that. I will never go there again for food.
