Always always always takes longer than they say it will take and on more than one occasion the problem wasn't fixed when I left the shop.
Also...they are pretty expensive. I started taking my car to another shop and I'm glad I did.
One nice thing I can say about them is that they are pretty friendly.
I have had a good long history with this shop - have used them for my Saab and Acura for about six years. I feel like I am getting an excellent price and they seem to get the fix right the first time.
I will say though that you need to be really clear with them about the work you need. More than once I have brought it in and they forgot to change the oil or replace a light even though I asked that they take care of it. Al the owner is getting a bit rusty and can be pretty disorganized at times. getting an exact price quote is not always his priority. But I know that he ias always trying to give me a deal and save money - especially as my car gets older.
They offer to pick me up and drop me off at nearby subway stations which is a big help.
The power steering on my fiance's minivan was acting up. I brought it into the dealership down the street and they charged me $50 to tell me the entire power steering apparatus would have to be replaced to the tune of $700+. We brought the car to Al, who asked if they had put any power steering fluid in the car. I said, not that I know of. Al said the worst thing they could have possibly done was to let me drive off the lot without putting in fluid. He sold us a $10 bottle of power steering fluid for $5. The car runs like new. Abj has a customer for life.
