Don'y waste you money at Hyatt Place.

Used to be Amerisuites a terrific neighborhood hotel that offered pleasant rooms and good service (WITH breakfast).

During a move on June 12,2008 needed a place for a couple nights and tried to make a reservation two blocks away at the Hyatt Place. Kept getting transferred to a reservation clerk in another state. Finally made it to the front desk and requested a first floor room. Was assured 1st floor, King. Got 4th floor, 2 Queens.

To my surprise and dismay only a one cup coffee maker, and no microwave. Very inconvenient. Starbucks is downstairs but who needs to be running down the elevator for coffee in the morning? And what if you're not a Starbucks drinker????

    Rug stained in many places.

There are no vending machines in the hotel and if you want ice, odd numbered floors only.

    The lobby is very nice.

Way overpriced for the little offered.

Avoidable problems: The AmeriSuites Boston, Medford appeared to be nice. The included breakfast was a convience. One of my problems were upon check in, my credit card was not returned to me and I did not realize this until 2 days later when I was going to make a purchase. I then had to go back to the hotel after checking out hours earlier to retreive my card. The second problem being after spending the whole day out I came back to a room that was not cleaned or made up. I was told the staff would be notified the next morning. That was not acceptable so I asked to have my room changed immediately which was done. As it turned out, the night I came back to an unmade room I noticed a message waiting and could not retreive it so ask at the front desk and was told there were no messages which was a mistake because when I went to get my credit card back I told the staff what happened and there was in fact a message stating my credit card was at the front desk. I feel the staff should have tried harder to make sure my card was given to me. I wasted time going back to the hotel and was not able to make my purchase.

Shuttle service limited: The Amerisuites would be a good hotel if you wanted to stay in Medford. But anyone going to Boston should stay in Boston. The breakfast was good but the hotel staff was very strict about enforcing the breakfast hours. About 9:45 they started reminding guests that breakfast ended at 10:00 am, meaning that if you asked for anything that was their reason for not providing the requested food item. One had to remind the staff of the time, that it was not yet 10 am, and after doing this 2-3 times, they would agree to your request.
