As a private facility -- not owned, operated or affiliated with a chain where corporate earnings are sometimes the over-riding priority -- we can focus on service and quality of life for our residents. We operate four units -- Arborhill, Birchill, Cherryhill and our rehabilitation wing, D-Unit -- to serve up to 169 residents. In addition to long-term care, our comprehensive programs in subacute care, rehabilitation and skilled nursing services are available on a short-term stay basis. Bear Hill Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is a member of the American Healthcare Association and the Massachusetts Senior Care Association (MSCA). We accept all BC/BS, Tufts, Harvard/Pilgrim managed care products and many commercial insurances as well. We are also preferred providers of the Melrose Wakefield Hospital, Partners and the Harvard Vanguard Medical Group. We have a long history of outstanding Massachusetts Department of Public Health regulatory compliance, and no nursing agency use for over 20 years. Our committed, hands-on management team has also been led by the same Administrator and Director of Nursing for over 20 years.
