About:Its location across from Fenway Park makes this spacious microbrewery a favorite when the Red Sox are in season, and it remains popular year-round. Fun and loud, it is a great place to sample some brews. Dark-beer lovers may enjoy a pint of Muddy River Porter or Buck Eye Oatmeal Stout. Lighter brews include Allston Mild and Blueberry Ale (with real berries floating in the glass). Menu items range from the bizarre (fried pickles) to the tried-and-true (French fries). There is another Boston location at 112 Canal Street.

Great beer and good food - lackluster service. We went when there was not a Sox game, but the Boston Beer Marathon was on and a bunch of revelers were at BBW. Be prepared to wait some.

What happened to Beer Works? Amazing beer, good food, and excellent service have disappeared and been replaced by a shadow of a brewery that once was. Their signature beers are still decent, but the TV Dinner food and the horrible service (with a recognizable drop of about 10 years in the average age of the staff) don't make it worth it. There's not much that compares to a Cask Conditioned Back Bay IPA. But you will have a much better overall experience at one of the many other bars in the Fenway area. It's actually quite sad to see what has happened to Beer Works!

Great place anytime: My cousin and I went to Boston Beer works near the Boston Garden twice. The service, the nachos and the hamburgers were great. Certainly a great place to go with kids before an event or with friends after.
