The food at Taco Bell actually has more flavor, and that is saying something, because I loathe Taco Bell.
The atmosphere here is good, and the drinks were great, but I agree with other reviews since the food was the worst "Mexican-style" I've ever had (I can't bring myself to call it "Mexican"). All of the dishes we ordered were very bland, lacked the fresh tasting ingredients of good Mexican, and smothered in cheese. The decor was very nice, but perhaps they should have invested in cooking staff and good ingredients instead.
If you want atmosphere and generic food, Carmen's is OK. If you want Mexican food then avoid it.
This was the worst Mexican food I have ever had. I ordered a small (thank goodness) guacamole and it was old, blackish green and tasteless. I told the waitress that this was awful and I wish I never ordered it. I would not even eat it. She went and told the "owner" about my problem with the guacamole and was told it looked like that because it was "winter". She returned very apologetic and said the "owner" said that he would not remove it from my bill and "you better toughen up with your customers". I then approached the "owner" and asked if he was the owner and his reply was "I can be". I proceeded to tell him that the guacamole color had nothing to do with the "winter" and that his guacamole was old and had turned. He then told me it was because of "winter" is why the color of the avocado was like that. I told him that was not true and he was serving old guacamole. I had been to a party earlier that day and FRESH guacamole was served there and was not blackish green in color but the color of dark green and light green, the way an avocado is supposed to look. He kept saying it was because it was "winter".
I could not believe that he would argue with a customer. What happened to the professionalism of "the customer is always right". I just want to be served FRESH food that I am paying for and to be treated by the "Owner" of the restaurant with respect and not making up scenarios about "winter" being the problem for serving poor quality food. Shame on Carmen's Restaurant in East Bridgewater, Ma. and most of all shame on the "I can be the Owner" for not treating his staff and patrons with respect.
To all my friends, relatives, co-worker's, town officials, and all the Dr's I work with and know. NEVER, EVER go to Carmen's Restaurant in East Bridgewater, Ma.
