This past November 2008, I visited Plymouth Mass. for the first time to attend a wedding. On a Sunday, my brakes went in my car and Souza Towing came down to check out my car. They only tow on Sundays and do not do mechanical work on this day. These men put aside all of the work that they were in the middle of doing to help me and my sister back on the road. They even drove downtown to get parts and fixed my car to get me back home. I have never come across such caring individuals. I am so impressed with what they did that I have no words to express my gratitude. I told the waitress at Hearth ân Kettle restaurant, (another fine Plymouth establishment), where we dined shortly after of our hardship, about how these men bailed us out and she was so kind to make us feel more at ease. (These men also recommended us to this restaurant.)
I am absolutely stunned to have been so lucky to have these men help us out in such a desperate time. We all know that mechanics can take advantage of their customers, especially 2 women, out-of-staters that they never would have seen again, but these men did the opposite. This is what a business should be and if all people would treat their customers and neighbors as these men did, our world would be a better place.
They also recommended what I need to do next to fix my car and told me everything I would need to know to make sure that the next mechanic that I worked with would not take advantage of me. They would not allow me to drive back to NH because they wanted me to drive back safe and that was their #1 concern, not money.
One of the mechanics drove my car to the shop and pointed out places around town and gave us an insight of the town. I will be back because of the history he told me of and of the kind people that I met who helped me in such a stressful moment.
I do know that when I visit Plymouth again, I will make a stop at Souza Towing and have a cup of coffee with such amazing American citizens!
