Lombardos

While Lombardo’s is a beautiful function hall with chandeliers, water fountains, and tastefully designed rooms, Lombardo’s management and customer service leave a lot to be desired and for that reason I can’t recommend recruiting them for your event. My family and I were looking for the right banquet hall for our wedding reception. We needed a place with an open catering policy due to our family’s desire to have a traditional Russian-Jewish wedding reception, with Russian food. During our phone conversation with the office staff, we were made to understand that an outside caterer would not be a problem and that they have plenty of experience hosting similar events. Encouraged by this information, we met with a sales department representative who went over their availability, pricing, their silver and white wedding packages and our catering plans, leading to our preliminary consent and their agreement to hold the date until we could work out a few remaining details with the general manager. We scheduled an appointment with the general manager, and enthusiastic about the forthcoming meeting stopped seriously exploring other options for a banquet hall. However, when we came back to Lombardo’s for our appointment with the general manager, we were told that he has already left, despite our appointment. An assistant manager, who said he’s spoken with the general manager, told us that it is Lombardo’s policy to themselves cook the food for their patrons, and although they do sometimes make exceptions to allow outside catering, such as allowing Indian food for a recent event, we can’t use Russian caterers. He didn’t have an explanation for why we were previously, on two separate occasions explicitly told otherwise, rather asking us what makes Russian food so different that we can’t use Lombardo’s food. What kind of question is that? Russian food is part of our heritage, as unique as any other ethnic food. And in any case, if this is their policy, why weren’t we informed of this when we were making our preliminary inquiries or gotten a courtesy call that would have saved us a second trip? We were very disappointed with our treatment at Lombardo’s.

LOMBARDO'S: THIS PLACE IS SO MAGNIFICENT!!! I HAVE BEEN HERE ABOUT 2 TIMES, AND THEY WERE FOR WEDDINGS!! THE FOOD IS GREAT AND THE CHANDELIER, WATER FOUNTAIN, AND STAFF ARE GREAT!!!
