Go to this restaurant if you want to dine at an establishment where the owner feels like he can touch and grab salespeople inappropriately and make sexual advances whenever he feels like. His actions are uncalled for and people like him give a bad name to all restaurant employees.
My Fiance and I enjoy Dining out at least a few times a week. Although we have our so called "Favorite Spots" we also enjoy trying new restaurants in the hope of maybe finding a new enjoyable place to dine. Tonight we made the mistake of trying Porticello in Easton, Ma. We arrived at 7:30pm and we were told the wait was going to be ten to fifteen minutes, which on a Saturday night was of course fine. After waiting about fifteen minutes we still remained seated patiently. In this period of time about four parties walked in and were all seated before us!! One was a party of five that in fact had a reservation, but the other four did not!! We are a younger couple so unfortunately we almost expect this kind of prejudice. The sixth party to enter Porticello decided to sit in the lounge area where two seats had opened up, but first kindly asked us if we wanted the open seats. The Hostess that was frantically running around hadn't even acknowledged that we had been waiting for over 45 minutes or even offered us seating in the lounge area!! It wasn't until the last couple had commented to the Hostess that she decided to finally acknowledge us!! We were then seated fifteen minutes later at 8:30! We were not asked if it was our first time dining at Porticello nor were we told the nights Specials!! We proceeded to put our drink order in and then our dinner order. They served the beverages in a two sip glass which both my fiance and myself had to continuously ask to be refilled! I ordered the Caesar Salad which came out pretty fast and was quite tasty, but it was half gone bye the time I received the fresh ground pepper I had been offered. While waiting for our food empty glasses and plates began to consume our table none of which had been cleared by our server who frequently passed our table. At this point the restaurant had slowed down a good amount. The time was now 9:30 so my fiance decided to speak with the manager. Turns out there was no manager, it was the host who previously ignored us that he spoke with and at that point the food was being delivered to our table FINALLY!!! I ordered the Chicken Parmesan with gnocchi, and my Fiance had ordered a chicken dish. My dish was awful and the so called "home made marinara sauce" tasted AWFUL like it was dumped out of a can on to my plate! My fiances dish was even WORSE!! It came served with a spoon full of cold mash potatoes and cold vegetables!! YUM!!! NOT!!!! The server felt awful and decided to speak with some man who came over our table asking, "Whats the Problem???'' He didn't let me get a word in edge wise and just stated he would take the food off of our bill No Apology!!! To any one that has not been to Porticello consider yourself Lucky!!!!! The food tasted like generic Italian food that made Chef Boyardee seem like a delicacy!!! In these economic times you would think situations like this would not occur. These restaurants could not stay open if it wasn't for the consumer. Do not eat at Porticello save your money and go to Burger King and Have It YOUR WAY!!!!!
We were extremely satisfied with the food, the atmosphere and the diligence of the waitresses.
We asked for slight variation of the dishes: one who was allergic to shrimp was able to get the fruitte de Mare without it, another to substitute the rice for the pasta, another one asked for it spiced, to which all were accomodated and accepted to have "our way"/
They did not rush us - the courses were well spaced apart and the food cooked to perfection. An excellent, relaxing dining restaurant.! It was highly recommended to us by my son, and rightly so.!
