   As a woman diagnosed with interstitial cystitis over 15 years ago I never really considered acupuncture although I had heard that it could be helpful. I was wary of going to someone who might not really know what they were treating. I initially began seeing Dr. Guangli Xu not for my IC but for recurring headaches and poor sleep. My headaches are now virtually non-existent compared to several mornings a week. When my IC symptoms suddenly increased after a change in my cardiac meds, Dr. Guangli Xu suggested that he could help with a combination of acupuncture and herbs. I am continuing treatment with him and find the sessions very relaxing. He is very knowledgable about this disease and has a very broad western medicine knowledge base in addition to his chinese medicine roots. He is very kind and compassionate with a very gentle manner. He really listens when you talk with him about your symptoms. I am still not pain free but am much improved and would recommend him to others with IC or other causes of pelvic pain.

   I started seeing Mr. Xu a few years ago following several failed attempts at conceiving a child, including multiple unsuccessful IVF treatments. Then my husband and I started meeting with Mr. Xu and received several sessions of acupuncture treatments, in conjunction with IVF. After a few months, I became pregnant and delivered a healthy baby. We both found Mr. Xu to be a wonderful healer who was very responsive to our needs. He is caring, attentive, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend his services to anyone who is struggling with fertility issues.

   Successful Treatment of Secondary Infertility: My husband and I endured IVF treatment for about three years, in our quest to have a second child. Finally our doctor told us there was no more hope due to low egg supply and advanced maternal age. I had started working with Dr. Xu during my IVF treatments and I continued for about one more year because I found his acupuncture and herbal treatments relaxing and helpful in balancing my hormones after the years of IVF treatment.
   
   I didn't really believe I could get pregnant, but Dr. Xu never saw the situation as hopeless. After approximately one year of working with him I became pregnant, and am now in the third trimester of a healthy pregnancy.
   
   Our son is happy that he will soon be a big brother and my husband and I are very grateful that there is a happy ending to our long infertility story.
