With the cost of milk exceeding four dollars a gallon in some supermarkets, the dairy store at Peaceful Meadows on Route 18 in Whitman is the place where everyone within ten miles should be buying their milk (and half-and-half, and ice cream!) Peaceful Meadow's milk is fresher and tastes infinitely better than their competition's, and the prices are hard to beat: a gallon of either skim or whole milk is just $3.19, while one percent milk is still under three dollars. And if you don't normally drink skim milk, you might just switch after tasting Peaceful Meadow's skim milk--no watery, gray, tasteless skim here! The people who work in the dairy store are always friendly and ready to help customers (as are the ice cream scoopers) and they are knowledgeable about the products they are selling. Another bonus: you can show the kids exactly where the milk they are buying comes from. Kids can watch the dairy cows grazing contentedly in the pastures at the rear of the property or meet them up close in the dairy barn adjacent to the store. Try doing that at the local supermarket!

So the next time you run out of milk, don't run to the supermarket or the convenience store--run over to the Peaceful Meadows dairy store (open 9 to 9 daily). Not only will you be saving money and giving your family the freshest, best-tasting milk available, you'll be supporting a local business, something we should all try to do whenever we can.
