I went to Blaines a couple of weeks ago I was more than happy with the layered hair cut I received. The girl did a great job and also advised me on ways to take care of my very dry hair. The only criticism I would have is that it took too long. And the best part the price was right only 6 dollars!

Not sure why this place is so over rated: I have lived in Philadelphia for some years and there I went to a place called the Aveda Institute -- it is very similar in terms the types of services provided (also done by students). However, all the similarities stops there. Some students at Blain had really no idea how to even do a simple layered hair cut. Hair wash took at least 20 minutes before the hair cut -- is that neccessary? The student who was cutting my hair seems to just read the manual on how to do a simple cut. The atmosphere was also less than comfortable. So for all those out there who is looking for something more than paying a cheap price for a hair cut (I have to admit it's really cheap), try somewhere, because it's NOT worth it.

Thank you!: Second draft! Don't know how to thank you for my cut! Young student did my cut. She was curtious, asked questions that I would prefer not to say outloud. Typical guy. She was'nt afraid to ask her neighbor boss-teacher for advice etc. Thought it was the greatest thing. No kidding, It was the best cut ever, especially with my cruddy hair!!. I usually get the chainsaw look!. Will tell all about you as I keep getting the compliments. Thanx again and I'll keep coming back, jack
