I came to Lisa (Owner)at the referral of a good friend whose hair always looks fresh and current.My initial impressions of the physical salon were: tasteful (there are featured, local artists works on the walls), cheerful, immaculate and comfortable. There's also ample, off street, free parking in the back, too-- which many other salons don't have.
The entire staff was friendly and warm. Lisa Tosney, was on-time (wonderful!) and LISTENED to what I told her I wanted, asked the right questions and gave me expert advice about what SHE thought I'd benefit from in a cut and color correction.
Conversation with Lisa (and the other staff members who were around us) was easy and pleasant. I left with the best 'cut and color' I've ever had...and the added plus of knowing I'd been treated respectfully by someone who listened , knew what she was going and had a great, creative eye and skilled hand. Not only will I go back to Design Team (Lisa is fabulous, but so are the other staff stylists!), but I will tell anyone who asks for a referral that this is one salon that is truly a 'cut above' many others. Do give Design Team a try--- there's no 'attitude' just great service and skill!!!-

The Design Team - what a delightful experience. Terrific haircuts from a member of a team of experts. Perhaps the most relaxing hairwash I've ever gotten. Flattering color, great cut, along with the final touch of a beautiful blow dry. AND expert make-up advise and application as an extra.

I had gone to this salon for a long time, the female owner was a GROUCH!! She's not professional at all and either were the employees. The salon is old and dirty, and for the prices they charge the ownwers should do something about this place. I had followed someone to this salon and the 6-7 years I went there, NO renevations were done. I'm sorry to say this but, the two owners would actually yell at eachother infront of everyone. Everyone in this salon is an embarassment especially the owners.

I feel compelled to correct the inaccurate statements of this review. There is only one owner of The Design Team, renovations have been done three times over the 15 years that The Design Team has been in business and it is a professional and clean Salon. I find it difficult to believe that anyone would continue to be a client of the Salon for 6-7 years if in fact their experience was as described. I invite you to come and judge for yourself...
