| About: | This waterfront restaurant is literally built from nautical history, with the building having been constructed form the old ship timbers, and filled with marine antiquities, artifacts, and curiosities, such as a two thousand year old Grecian urn, harpoons, lobster pots, buoys, and other interesting artifacts that are used as decoration to create the desired ambience. It gives one the feeling of dining in a maritime museum, and nicely captures the history and character of Cape Cod. With a nice wine list, Landfall offers a lunch menu that includes clam chowder, fish and chips, lobster, a Cajun swordfish sandwich, hamburgers and fries, and more; the dinner menu includes such dishes as boiled or baked lobster, broiled or fried scrod, broiled or fried scallops, shrimp scampi, Nantucket swordfish, seafood platters, chicken Francaise, filet mignon, and steak. |

My husband enjoyed his baked stuffed lobster. Our fried calamari was very good. However, there were 2 WORMS in my broiled scrod!!! I was full by the time the dish came, so I took it home to eat later. Much to my surprise, there were two rather large, white worms in my fish. Do not eat here!!!!!
This was always the place to go waiting for the boat to the Vineyard or Nantucket. Ambience was nice and service very good and meals average although price wise high.
You go for the view though... I went several weeks ago. They have a curtain going down the mid of the room, so you do not see the beautiful decorating.
We sat on the bar side, the doors to the outside were locked so no sea breeze, and they wouldn't open as they were locked.
Music blasted from above... Mostly hip hop and heavy metal. NOT a choice I wanted in fact I much prefer no music and want to listen to the ferries and the birds.
Chowder was thick and cold, steamers looked like they were undersized as they were so small and the waitress never brought a bowl to throw the shells in, and had to ask several times for water, the bowl, well basically the service was horrendous.
Lunch menu special was popcorn shrimp and or fried clams strips!
This from a place that was known at least for fairly decent fried sea food!
Do yourself a favor and go in for a drink. They are big and strong and tasty then leave and eat elsewhere.
a must every time I go to the cape: whats not to like, the landfall is a cape cod must experience
