My girlfriend and I have been driving by this place for sometime and saying that we just had to get there some time to try it out. Well, last Thursday night we finally did to check out "No Country For Old Men."
For people who have never been, you should know that the rooms are shaped like a traditional theater, but simply have tables rather than rows of seats. Also, the waitress does not revisit your table during the show (to avoid interrupting the movie) so make sure you pre-order everything you will need.
We enjoyed the experience--the movie was a great value at $5 a ticket and the meals (BBQ chicken sandwich for me, pulled pork for my girlfriend's meal) were decent. We certainly did not get skimped on curly fries! I am happy to go back. Also, their website does give you the menu in case you are curious about what you can get--we were at the 8:45 show and most of the people around us were ordering appetizers/drinks while we had held off on our dinners until the show.
Good movies and great food!: $5 for relatively new movies plus being able to have a reasonably price dinner while you watch is a great combination. It would be nice to have a larger meal selection. But given the quality of the meals it makes up for it. My girlfriend and I have gone at least 7 or 8 times and have yet to be disappointed. It's a great place to go for the whole family or if you want to take your date out some where.
cat piss?: I enjoy anything that is cheap -- and yes, Cinema Pub is one of the cheap places I enjoy. And, no the food isn't half bad!
But.....the past two times I have gone, I have seen movies in the same theater (there are 2 there) and the one I was in had this overwhelming stench of cat piss! Sure, you got used to it after a while......just in time for the food to come so you could eat without feeling like you were tasting cat piss.....but c'mon!!!! My suggestions: clean the rugs, spray some Lysol, invest in a couple of Plug-ins!!!
It just made me wonder, when the movies are over and everyone is gone, who do they let live there at night when everyone leaves, what comes to life when the lights go out? The local winos or a tribe of felines????
