April 24th - Great place for dinner! Enjoyed the 1/2 roasted duck and the halibut had a great flavor to it.(was pricey for the amount received). If you are looking for a quiet dinner, this is not the place. It has a great atmosphere but noisy. The wait staff were extremely attentive and polite. Highly recommend this place for dinner. M&C
Really Good Cow!!!!: I like how there is upstairs and downstairs seating, the upstairs having it's own bar and leather sofa by a roaring fire place. The atmosphere is cosy yet upscale.
I was impressed with the wine menu, the inexpensive wines were well chosen and very good. (I hate it when you don't have a choice, but to get an expensive bottle. We started out with lobster fritters with a smokey red pepper remoulade, the fritters by the way were packed with meat as opposed to "lobster flavored."
I had a filet mignon, med rare of course, topped with a whipped maytag bleu, and served a top shallot mashed potatoes with a wild mushroom demi glace. It was excellant!! very good cut of meat and the flavors were nice. My husband got a sirloin au poive, which had an amazing flavor, but the cut of meat had a thick ineddible membrane on the top. I know sirloin is supposed to have more fat on it, but for what we paid, it seemed to not have enough butchering care. Even though the manager assured us this was how it was supposed to be. So if you are going for steak, stick with the filet, every one else at the table got filet and loved it!!!
Dress nice, a little pricy but worth the good cow and extra care, (with the filet).
unbelievable food: excellent food, excellent service. love the prix fixe menu on friday nights - $60/couple and includes a 3 course meal and bottle of wine.
