User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsWisacres Under Weigh: This was an interesting Tavern. Located on the water in verdant Matunuck, which according to local legend, is a Narragansett word that doesn't lend itself well to translation, though I caught the impression that it had something to do with the local tribesmen's anger o'er depleted quahogs due to the white man's taste for "stuffies". When I asked what these "stuffies" were, I was most disinterested. Something about Indian Meal and Paprika - two most foul ingredients indeed. The audacity!!! To put a costly spice like Paprika on Indian Meal with these shell meats on top of a shell? Hardly what I'd call good belly timber - I'll take sea bread and slapjacks anytime. Be sure to have a pint of it with a local gentleman named Sir Johnathan Money - he really goes after a brew with the hammers and tongs - stout fellow.
