User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI made a special trip to George's tonight based on the positive reviews here, and ordered a pepperoni pizza (the standard by which I compare pizza venues) and a sausage pizza. Here's the verdict:
This is a decent pizza with a crisp crust and good toppings, though the impression left by the crust and sauce is a little bland. It's a good change of pace from the doughier crusts of a Dominoes or Papa John's, though it's not quite up to par with the chains overall (let's face it, they wouldn't be chains if they didn't have a good pizza recipe). I may even give the nod to George's on the sausage.
I may be spoiled, having grown up with pizza from Bratskellar in Portsmouth, NH, but that's what I'm weighing against when I'm looking for pizza with flavor and texture.
So, four stars (Good) and not five stars (Excellent).

User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThe Best: I live in Los Angeles now, but everytime I visit RI, I make it to Georges. Excellent sauce to cheese ratio. Perfect crust. Nothing like that out here.

"though it's not quite up to par with the chains overall (let's face it, they wouldn't be chains if they didn't have a good pizza recipe)." Wow, I disagree totally. Dominoes tastes like cradboard, and Papa John's puts barely any toppings on their pizzas (I paid for pepperoni - so PILE it on there).

It's like saying that McDonalds makes the beest hamburger because it's a chain. Maybe you should get out more.
