Caserta's Pizzeria Business Overview

Edit Info

Company Information: Caserta's is a Rhode Island tradition; returning natives head for one of their pizzas like homing pigeons. Order a medium pizza and you get what most would call a large one, and the rich, thick sauce is unique. When you get a pizza with everything on it they don't skimp; items from olives to anchovies are thickly spread all over the pizza. This little place perched on Federal Hill just above downtown Providence, is a casual eat-in restaurant but most people order their pizza and pick it up. Cash only.

If you like Domino's pizza, you may hate Caserta's. However, if you appreciate great sauce and authentic ingredients, this one is for you. Don't even compare it to what you think you know about pizza, just enjoy! This is the only pizza I enjoy 'plain', which for them means without cheese, by the way.

Also highly recommended are their Wimpy Skippy's: spinach, olives and pepperoni wrapped in a wonderful crust. A bit greasy, so be sure to get lots of napkins, but well worth the calories.

This place has been around for a long time. It might not be the best now, but still one of the best. I remember this place before it was sold some years ago. It was when it was remodeled that new owners took over and made some changes. The sauce is not the same. The old sauce had a unique flavor that was just awesome. I think it could have been wine. It is still a good pie, but the old way was MUCH better. Still worth a trip though.
