Consistantly mediocre food. Good variety, but the food is missing the wow factor. I always feel like my sandwich needs something else.
Service is good and prices are reasonable.

Excellent selection of breakfast and lunch fare, and reasonable. Everything you'd expect from a coffee shop. The service cannot be beat. I have been a customer for over a year - the food served is remarkably consistent. Go for the home made Portuguese soup on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a hearty, gently spicy lunch. Excellent touches in serving their coffee. They take great care with your order.

Listen - you can get a bite to eat anywhere on Empire - Chinese, French, Irish, American - all on the same block. Go to Cafe la France and experience the excellent customer service as well. You are treated with respect here. I've seen a very frequent customer come in, and his order is 1/2 done by the time he arrives without even calling. Another guy comes in and returns his lunch bag, so they put his newly ordered lunch in that bag, so as to recycle. They cater to him, and they can probably suit your needs if you give them a try. You can get coffee at D&D next door, buy why? Support local business - that's what I'm all about. Especially in these times. Enjoy la France!
