The Red Fez is one of the best places to dine in all of New England. The decor is an artsy mix of paintings and found objects with a whimsical theme which revolves vaugely around the Red Fez sign hanging above the door. The owners and staff are very professional and some of the nicest people that will ever wait on you. The crowd is anywhere from Brown and RISD students to Lawyers getting a great gourmet meal on the cheap. Both the bar upstairs and downstairs are well stocked with anything from the cheapest beer available to "up to the minute" wine and cocktail offerings all served by intelligent and considerate bar tenders. The prices are way below anything you will find in the area for comparable food and service most entrees are between $6 - $12. It is an ecclectic mix of Asian, Mexican, Middle Eastern, and good old comfort food. They are noted for their grilled cheese sandwich and quesadilla which are local favorites. However, the menu runs the gamut from Grilled Cheese to really impressive entrees including higher end meat dishes which change frequently. They have several vegetarian offerings as well. The appetizers are very inexpensive and of the highest quality. The desserts are handmade and to die for. If you are looking for great gourment food on the cheap and an interesting place to eat; the Red Fez is it. You will not be let down. We have eaten at the Red Fez for several years on a regular basis and have had nothing but the best dining and food experience everytime.
Not easy to find but easy to love!: Ok, its not every day I say my fav menu item from a restaurant is the grilled cheese. You're just going to have to trust me on this one... its amazing! But don't worry - there's lots more. Great atmosphere, great food, great prices, great services, I rave on and on. The menu changes every couple of months so there's always something new and great. Now if they'd just change their sign.... take it literally, don't bother looking for the name - just a sign with a red hat and you're there!
