| About: | The winding sculpted paths of Roger Williams Park lead you on a safari experience where you can view over 900 zoo animals. Giraffes, zebra, cheetah, endangered lemurs, and an open-air aviary are just a few of the 156 different species. History buffs enjoy the Museum of Natural History, and the Betsy Williams Cottage with an authentic colonial American Flag, stitched, legend says, by Betsy. Carousel Village offers a Carousel, and pony rides. Rolling lawns make a lovely backdrop to paddle boats as they float among swans on a lily-pad pond. $12 general admission with discounts for children and seniors. This zoo is open everyday from 9 a.m onwards. |

First time in a small town zoo, so was disappointed, but it is nice, clean, and has a few nice displays.
Great all day activity: Roger Williams Zoo is beautiful and well maintained. It is obvious that they make an effort to keep new exhibits coming and old exhibits fresh. Our kids love to watch the sea lions in the underwater viewing area that has giant glass windows to see all the action. You can spend a whole day there, and they have reasonable food and drink in a number of locations throughout the park. You can also bring your own food and have a picnic.
If you live closeby, I would highly recommend a family membership as it pays for itself in only two visits.
Awesome Zoo: What a great place to take the family. My favorite exhib is Tropical America.
If you are in Rhode Island or plan on visiting, check this place out.

Hi there, I love the zoo. When my kids were small, we went every weekend. We had a family season's pass. They use to have puppet shows by 'Bruna Puppet and Costumes in Cranston, R.I. I am wondering if they still do puppet shows there? They were fabulous and the kids love them. They also use to show up with costume characters like Elmo and Kookie monster. It's worth seeing.
