I live locally and have hiked the trails at Andres many times. Each year new sculpture are added and it's fun to try and find them as the maps may not be up to date with the most recent ones. It is a peaceful hilltop, trails are mostly level and easy to walk, you can bring a leashed dog, it's quiet and quite fascinating to see such a variety of mediums used. There is still some view of the town below from the top but the trees get taller each year. No matter, it then becomes more of a world of its own.
Andres Insttute of Art Sculpture Park is a spectacular day in the country. With over 50 sculptures, 140 acres and walking trails of varying lengths it is a great way to spend the day. Open from Dawn to Dusk it is FREE and has ample parking at the trailhead. Check out their website for a preview of the park and print out a trail map to locate the trails and individual sculptures. Sculptors from around the world and here in the US have left beautiful works of art for us to enjoy.
