We ate at Richard's Bistro for the first time last night. It was awesome. Richard himself sat us and stopped by during our meal to see if everything was to our liking. The appetizer sampler, clam appetizer special and pear salad were fabulous. Our party had steak, lobster with English peas, and grilled scallops. We also tried the pecan pie and banana's foster. We were not rushed and the waitress was very good. I can't wait to go back. Definitely worth the trip to Manchester.
Richard's is our favorite in Manchester. The salad is very different and wonderful. The fresh breads are very good and they change all the time. The bouillabaise is not quite what you would expect by name, but a huge, fantastic seafood extravaganza. We love the salmon, the pork, and the haddock. Best of all, mature, professional wait staff instead of kids. And they are open and uncrowded on Sunday evenings when we go out to relax before a new week. It's a great place to try a new wine since the selection is great by-the-glass, and the wait staff is professional enough to make a solid recommendation.
Only downsides are: the entree choices haven't changed in 2 years, I get a little bored. Some of the newer small dishes aren't quite up to par with the rest of the menu (beef wellington, for example).
I've brought business dinners here and had excellent service for parties of 8 or 12. Or, it's a great place to crash and relax with your most significant other on a snowy Sunday night with a warm belly and a good glass of wine.
MY FIRST TIME AT THE RESTAURANT WAS WHEN I TOOK A OLDER GENTLEMAN WITH ME ,IM IN HEALTH CARE AND I FOUND THERE WAS JUST NO WHERE TO PARK ,AND WE HAD TO SIT IN THE WAY BACK, THERE WERE SEATS CLOSER . ALSO I FOUND ODD THAT A BIG WELL KNOW RESTAURANT HOLDS LETS SAY 100.00 PEOPLE . THE BATHROOM I WAS SHOCK TO FIND THAT THERE WAS ONLY 2 STALLS FOR THE WOMANS ROOM I THINK THIS IS A DOWN FALL FOR BUISNESS. FOOD SERVICE GOOD ,ACCOMIDATIONS LOUSY SORRY
