this place is great, the service was amazing and the owners are great! go here!
TERRIBLE. Picture this: a party of eleven family members gather for a 40th birthday dinner but ONLY 9 GET DINNER. We were seated half an hour late and they were still disorganized. When the dinners were served, two dinners were MISSING(including the very pregnant guest of honor's). Everyone waited a few minutes, no dinners. We asked everyone to start. Still no dinners. It took at least 30 MINUTES LONGER for the missing dinners to appear. BUT no mention by staff that it would ever take so long, in the meantime everybody had finished and upset. Those nine with meals felt awkward and rude eating their own dinner when the guest of honor had NOTHING TO EAT. Did they offer a salad in the interim? NO. NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY from the owner and no break on the bill for anything! He blamed the waittress! The menu is extensive, the food good, the presentation good, but who cares when there is such a void in the service and the character of the owner?
Family favorite with New England charm.: The Inn is a wonderful base for your adventures in the Lakes Region or White Mountains. Enjoy a quiet dip in the crystal-clear lake, and an evening taking in the view while enjoying the cuisine or sipping your favorite drink. The views, beach, and the Inn itself are beautiful, and the food in the restaurants is excellent. The Inn is a property from the era of coaches and railways. The rooms are a bit cozy, but well kept; modern room amenities are best found elsewhere. The staff is cheerful and attentive. The Inn is my parent's choice for special evenings, and for lodging visiting friends and relatives. I give it four stars.
