    I don't know why people say Hart's Turkey Farm is so expensive. It's actually one of the least expensive restaurants in Meredith. The turkey entrees start at $10.99 and the non-turkey entrees start at $13.99. The kid's menu is great, and the place is very family friendly.

    The food is great. The turkey is fork-tender and flavorful. You can request either dark or light meat. The dessert list is extensive and runs from puddings to cakes to pies.

    We were pleased with the service and our food was brought to us promptly and hot on the plate.

    If you read the menu, you'll find out the actual turkey farm was discontinued in the mid 1960's, but the name was kept because it is a family business.

    We enjoyed our turkey and the service, but were disappointed on a few accounts:
    1) We thought it would be served in more of a Thanksgiving style, but the slices were very thin and diner-like.
    2) The prices were high for the portion sizes.
    3) There was no actual farm anymore.

    Terrific Family Dining: I have been returning to Hart's since I was a kid. We have always been consistently treated well in a great family atmosphere. Considering the great quality of their homemade foods, their prices are a great value in today's dining market! Where else can you go and choose white or dark meat on any Turkey related menu item? Homemade pies to die for! REAL mashed potatoes not instant. If your down-to-earth, family loving people then this is a great place for you and yours. Not to mention, a great way to have a fabulous Turkey dinner without doing all the work!
