We went to Moritomo's for our anniversary and had a wonderful time. The food was good and at a fair price.
Best sushi and bento boxes ever! Stay away from the hibachi tables - it's like a totally different place, and not in a good way. We love Moritomo!
This is the worst Japenese food experience I've ever had. I am from out of town and very seldom make it to Concord, NH. Here is the list of problems with this restaurant I experienced this evening:
1. We were seated at the hibachi table. We ordered appetizers and received them in the middle of the main course.
2. This restaurant does NOT serve white sauce. The cook said he has regular requests from customers to serve white/seafood sauce, but the owner refuses. They also put the ginger salad dressing out as a sauce which I've never seen before.
3. Every single meat is cooked with extremely too much garlic for Japenese food.
4. I read several reviews that said this place was "affordable". Dinner for two: $72 - no alcohol. This does not equate to the $10 meal I saw quoted here.
5. The chicken was terrible - it tasted like tofu in grill swill.
6. We requested our check to exit this disaster at the close of the meal. In the process, the cooks sped up the exit of the others at the table who were obviously enjoying a birthday gathering. They went so far as to break out the carry home containers while these folks were still dishing food in their mouths. They were visibly upset with this, but the staff was non-responsive and urgent.
7. While putting the container on the table, a bug fell from the container and scurried under the plate of one of the patrons who did not see it. I did see it, however, and the waitress saw that I saw it when she looked directly at me. She did nothing and proceeded to put the food in the same container and make no mention of it to the patron.
Skip this place.

This restaurant is excellent and very clean! I've had Japanese food in Boston, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles -- Moritomo compares well. In fact it's amazing that it is in Concord, NH. One last thing, my 11-year-old son and I have been eating at Moritomo for several years. The wait staff is friendly and has always gone out of their way to make him feel welcome. He wants you to know that they give special easy to use chop sticks for kids!
