The rain had finally stopped and the sun was out last night so we wnt over to one of our favorite restaurants to eat out on their deck. To our delight a very talented musician Matt Tellier was also there performing some wonderful classics with both voice and acoustic guitar. The food & service, as always at Rosas was wonderful but add the live performance of Matt and suddenly the whole experience became outstanding. Enjoy!!!
Last Spring a friend and I went to New Hampshire for the first time. We had several meals in Bethlehem at a little place downtown (I can't remember the name to save me). They were so good we went back almost every meal.
But on our last Sunday there that place was closed and we had to look elsewhere for a bite to eat.
We knew nothing about this Rosa Flamingos when we drove up. Being from Texas it sounded like a Mexican joint. The thought of Mexican food in New Hampshire rather scared us...but what they heck, we thought.
We were one of two tables being served mid afternoon so I can't comment on the service being anything but VERY good. When ya have 2 tables it's kinda a slam dunk.
But the pizza was some of the best pizza I have ever eaten in my life!! My friend and I still rave on the pizza there. We even asked if they would ship it to us here in Texas.
I had one of the worst meals I've eaten in recent memory at Rosa Flamingos this week. I ordered what should have been a slam dunk easy- to-make-meal -- Chicken in a white wine sauce with feta, kalamata olives and fussili pasta.
The pasta was completely overcooked, when I picked it up with a fork it just fell apart. The chicken was over-coated with what I assume was flour, so that the chicken tasted glue-y, as did the sauce.
The service also left a great deal to be desired. When the wait person saw that I hadn't eaten much of the meal (I ate the chicken because I was really hungry, and left a big bowl of gluey sauce with mushy pasta), he asked if everything was alright. When I said no, the pasta was over cooked, he just said, gee, I guess it's not your night. No offer of compensation, no apology, no host coming over to see if there was anything that could be done.
To be fair, my dinner companion had a lovely ravioli stuffed with squash as an appetizer, and once our server got the order right -- he brought the wrong appetizer initially -- she did enjoy it. I tasted it and thought it was very good. This pasta was cooked correctly, the filling was very tasty and the sauce was light and well seasoned. If they could do what they did with the ravioli, it's hard to understand why they couldn't do it with my dish.
Bottom line -- I wouldn't eat there again....too inconsistent and not very good service.

My Family and I are going to be staying in the area this July and I was wondering on why you think the rosa flamimgo resturant was so inconcictent when you only stated one visit... Please can you elaborate more! I have noticed my choices are very limited where you are and I really just want to make the most out of our family stay. To be fair to the resturant was the staff new? Are the meals pre~prepared or cooked to order? Did you ask your waiter to take the meal away and bring you something else? Anything else you could say would be great!!! Please and Thank you for your time Signed- interested
