Salt Hill has a decent beer selection but the food leaves more to be desired. Our standby is the fish and chips but being health conscious, friend foods don't always work. Stay away from the quiche as it has been overcooked the last two times I ordered it. The service is sparce the booths worn down and many located under air vents which can be distracting and uncomfortable. We've only gone there for lunch so I don't know if the dinners are any better. The Newport location is much better and more family friendly. If you choose to go to the Newport restaurant, sit upstairs in the bar area. It has more atmosphere.
Very unpleasant. It took almost an hour to get our appetizers even though the place was only about 2/3 full. The waitress assured us that burgers could be cooked any way we like so I ordered one medium rare. When it finally came it was well done. Most of the food was mediocre at best. They claimed there would be live music on the web site but instead got a 70's mix tape. Interior was dark and poorly maintained.
You're bettter off across the street at Three Tomatoes or if you want pub food there are lots of good places around the college. I don't know who wrote all the 5 star reviews but they don't reflect the reality of this place.
Fun Restaurant: Salt Hill is a fun and inviting restaurant. It's a great spot for family, friends or just a cup of coffee. The food is delicious!
