Lui Luis does nothing for me. The pizza is soso, the eggplant disgusting and certainly does not stand up to even average Italian cooks.
They have delicious rolls with an olive oil & herb dip.
The ambiance is not awful, but just old. Some people in my family love it there..but I don't. I always vote no for Lui Lui.
After reading these reviews I had to add my two cents. After looking for literally hours for a place to eat on our way to Vermont, we ended up at Lui Lui. I did not have high hopes as it looks like just another average chain, but we stayed and waited for a table since the alternatives were McDonald's and Wendy's. The antipasto was good and served quickly, but that was the only thing that was done well. My kids got spaghetti and meatballs -- the pasta was fine, but the meatballs were the frozen variety - did not even taste like they had meat in them. The veal was tough and had not been pounded out and our server was so busy watching the game and chatting with the other wait staff that he never even brought us napkins or water. Wish I had gone for the Big Mac...
Lui Lui is a good family restaurant with nice portions. When I say nice portions, I mean that they don't pile on the pasta to where you need to be rolled out into the parking lot after dinner. The food is good standard Americanized Italian fare and the service is friendly. The prices are moderate for the portion sizes but that's fine with me. Lui Lui's is a good stand by Italian restaurant in the Upper Valley.
