We stayed in The Light Ship building at The Anchorage By The Sea, which is one of the few "secondary" buildings across the street from the main office and other buildings. Our room was larger than average with a big fireplace and king-sized bed. All grounds, inside and out, are exceptionally clean. There are pools and jacuzzi tubs inside and out, although they close fairly early (9:00 for kids and 10:00 PM for adults - the staff did not enforce children being not permitted in the hot tubs). There is no room service delivery available, although the restaurant near the pool has great take-out and plenty of dining tables. We ate breakfast twice and a late bar-menu dinner once - the French toast and pancakes were both delicious. It's a short (5-10 minute) walk to the beach along the Marginal walkway and a very quick walk to shops and restaurants. Our only major complaint during our 6-day stay was that our air conditioner wasn't very powerful - maybe it was due to the room being so large... The heat in the room was bad enough that we probably won't choose Anchorage again in the future. The only other thing that bothered me (not such a big deal) was the water pressure in the shower was slightly better than standing out in the rain. It literally took me half an hour to rinse my hair.

i have been going to this hotel since i was about 3 years old with my grandmother and my aunt. every trip to maine is exciting and unique. This hotel is not only adult friendly but kid friendly as well. however there are places for the adults to relax without having to hear children like in any old hotel. this hotel has amazing services too. i know whenever i visit i never have a complaint and neither do any of my family members. this hotel has great new rooms that are remodeled every few years so they never get worn out. they also each have a great view of the ocean off of thier deck. 1st floor, second floor, doesnt matter because there is always a great stay. i am 16 now and every year i cant wait to get there. usually youd think that teens would gt tired of the same trip over and over again but in ogunquit maine there is tons to do and never a dull moment [:
